Description
View of the demolition of a building identified as the Wood Building on the northwest corner of Church and George Streets, New Haven. View is looking east toward the intersection. A crane appears to be at work just above the first floor level, formerly occupied by Allen's Cut Rate Store. Signs above the storefront on the George Street side read in part: "PATENT/MEDICINES" and "PERFUMERS/LUNCHEONETTE". Commercial buildings can be seen on the east side of Church Street in the background. A restaurant with a sign advertising Coca-Cola occupies the first floor of a building on the northeast corner of the intersection. Cars are visible on George Street in the foreground.
