Like many of the American Impressionists, artist Reynolds Beal found the dockyards of New England fishing villages a picturesque subject. At the time the painting was done, the building housed was part of the Atwood Machine Company. Gift of The Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Company.
