The Bridgeport History Center holds material related to P.T. Barnum, Charles S. Stratton (General Tom Thumb), Mercy Lavinia Warren, and other performers that worked with Barnum over the years. As such, it has developed a rich collection related to them and to circus history up into the 1920s when Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus moved their winter quarters out of Bridgeport and down to Florida.
